Online Therapy
Therapy works very well over telehealth and we are confident in our continued high quality of care. We have successfully transitioned to video sessions, and lots of clients love it! While it is disappointing to not be in person for therapy sessions, there are some advantages to virtual sessions including no travel time and being in your familiar space. If privacy is an issue, we are flexible about where you are - some clients have sessions from their car, or outside. We will offer in-person sessions again when it is absolutely safe to do so. Until then, we are still here for you! And we will continue to offer an online therapy option for those clients who have come to prefer this format.
Our specialties include Anxiety Treatment, Depression Treatment, Trauma & PTSD, Life Transitions, Mindfulness & Self-Compassion, Therapy for Men, Couples Therapy and Groups.
We look forward to seeing you virtually!
HOW DO I USE YOUR TELEHEALTH PLATFORM?
-You will receive an email reminder with the video link 48hours prior to your appointment AND 10 minutes prior to your appointment. If you are on your desktop or laptop computer, simply click on the link to begin the session.
-If you are on a mobile device, you will need to download the app first.
-If the video starts to break up, try these things:
-Be as close as possible to the internet router in your house.
-If the video on a desktop/laptop/tablet computer glitches too much put it on mute and call on the phone for the audio. That way the conversation can continue regardless of the video and reduces disruption.
-Shut down as many programs running in the background on your computer as possible. For apple computers, you need to “quit” the program (from the top toolbar), not just minimize.
-Make sure the software on your phone/computer is up to date.
-If you are in your car, you can also move closer to a cell tower - you want to have 3 bars on the cell phone signal meter in order for the video to load sufficiently.
